Unlike standard Camembert, the Camembert du Boulonnais is deeply influenced by its proximity to the sea and the limestone-rich soil of the Pas-de-Calais. The Frères Bernard utilize milk from local herds that graze on these mineral-dense grasses, resulting in a cheese that has more character and a slightly bolder “farmhouse” profile than its Norman relatives.

With 30 years of experience, we have developed efficient and modern manufacturing techniques, while continuing to use traditional artisanal methods. Our machines have been custom-made to limit repetitive gestures and avoid waste. At the same time, some of our cheeses are still molded with a ladle and spoon. In all cases, the recipes for our cheeses are authentic and unchanged since 1990. Even when modernizing our premises in 2018, we were keen to maintain our authenticity.
